A leading manufacturer of door and window hardware including bi–fold doors, injection molded plastic products and diecast products required a more efficient and safer solution to moving and lifting their heavy steel molds.

The production of the plastic and diecast products requires the use of steel molds which need to be changed when switching between the numerous products they manufacture. The company’s internal risk assessments concluded that the use of forklift trucks with lifting straps was no longer practical with the amount of changes required to satisfy increased demand.

Met-Track^® conducted a site survey and proposed to supply a number of Met-Track^® over braced jib cranes each with a 1000Kg safe working load and a 2 speed chain hoist.

The Met-Track^® jib cranes could be used to remove parts of the injection molding or diecasting machines for routine maintenance safely and efficiently.
